Dermatology is a medical field dealing with any kind of disorder or disease of the skin, nails and hair. The condition of the skin reflects the individual’s inner balance, physical and psychological health as well.

Diseases attacking the skin may be acute, such as allergy or insect bites or may be chronic complaint like eczema or psoriasis lasting for many years or since childhood. There are also some diseases which are unnoticed for several years because they do not show visible signs or cause complaints (i.e. skin cancer).  For these reasons, we encourage regular screening examinations.

During dermatological examination a detailed medical history is taken of the patient, including the family’s medical history.

A physical examination may take place after, examining the problematic area of the skin and the whole body surface as well. In some cases biopsy needs to be taken for further investigation. After all necessary tests a therapy treatment will be discussed (or invasive intervention if necessary).
